I can't believe it. I'm turning half a century!
My better days may be
behind me, but that's no reason why I still can't celebrate with the
friends that I love!
If you have made it to this website that means
that you have hopefully decided to join me on Monday, May the
5th, 2025 in Chicago
to celebrate ¡Cinco de Markus! Loosely
translated, “The Five Decades of Markus.”
The festivities start promptly at 4:30 p.m. at 310 S Michigan Ave.
Why so early you ask? Well, it is the most fashionable day of the year, the Met Gala!
So join me for champagne as we watch live coverage of the
celebrities arriving on the famous Metropolitan Museum staircase!
What does this mean for you as a guest? That you're probably
going to have to take a half a day off on Monday to get ready, and
maybe go to work late on Tuesday, lol.
More importantly, I want
each and every one of you to dress in your favorite Met Gala
theme!

This year the Met Gala theme is “Superfine: Tailoring Black Style,”
honoring the incredible style legacy of Black men throughout
history, based on the book Slaves to Fashion.

Considering everyone on the board for the gala this year is an
African American male, with the exception of Anna Wintour of
course,
this seems like the perfect year for me to use this as my
theme!
I mean... Hopefully when we think of Black men in fashion,
I come to mind!
The night will be full of food, fun, and my oh so fashionable
friends! Don't let me down.
The evening should wrap up at 10:30
p.m. or so, just be forewarned in case you have to hire a sitter for
the evening, or work the following day!
Ladies... What will you wear?
Will you channel Beyonce at
China through the looking Glass?
Rihanna or Blake lively at Heavenly Bodies?
Or JLo, A line of beauty?
Gentleman, what are you thinking?
Perhaps Bad Bunny in 2023?
Barry Keoghan in 2024?
Chadwick Boseman in 2018?
Or Andre Leon Talley in 2004?
Of course there are always those people who just show up in their
finest evening wear.
We've never been let down by Naomi
Campbell or Tom Ford!
When it comes to presents, yes this is my birthday, but your
presence is the only gift that I need!
Please keep in mind that I will
be traveling and cannot pack precious items with me to take back
to my new home in Phoenix.
Parking will not be convenient! Due to the location being in the
downtown area, I highly recommend opting for ride share this
evening.
This guarantees that even with a glass of champagne or seven, you will get home safely without the threat of drinking and
driving.
